The Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) received funding from the World Bank for the Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 Response and Essential Health Services Project. (ZCREHSP). Cordaid-Zimbabwe is the Project Implementing Entity (PIE). The project aims to help Zimbabwe to respond and mitigate the risks associated with the COVID-19 and strengthen the national health systems for future preparedness and response and deliver essential health services, particularly Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH)

Part of the funding will be used to carry out minor renovation of 25 theatres and refurbishment of 25 maternity waiting homes in Mberengwa (Mnene Hospital), Gokwe South (Gokwe South District Hospital), Buhera (Murambinda Hospital), Mutare (Sakubva Hospital), Mutasa (Hauna Hospital), Bikita (Mashoko Hospital), Chiredzi (Chikombedzi Hospita), Zaka (Musiso Hospital), Mwenezi Matibi Bospital), Hurungwe (Chidamoyo Hospital), Kadoma (Sanyati Hospital), Makonde (Father O Hea), Kariba (Siakobvu Hospital), Chikomba (Sadza Hospital), Mutoko (Mutoko Hospital), UMP (Mutawatawa Hospital), Murehwa (Nhowe Hospital), Mbire (Chitsungo Hospital), Rushinga (Mary Mount Hospital), Centenary (St Albert’s Hospital), Mt Darwin (Mt Darwin Hospital), Bubi (Nyamandlovu Hospital), Nkayi (Nkayi Hospital), Gwanda (Manama Hospital) and Mangwe (Brunapeg Hospital).

Cordaid Zimbabwe the Project Implementing Partner now invites interested suppliers to submit the following documents: Proof of company registration, company profile, at least 3 references for similar work done and valid tax clearance certificate. All the interested contractors must have a local Nostro Company Account. The contractor shall follow the World Bank Group Environment, Health and Safety Guidelines and the project Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) which should become the basis for preparing the site-specific ESM Plan when required.
